clubGEN |
| clubGEN is an after school program for AISD middle school girls that
employs high school girls to facilitate a new research-based curriculum
proven to prevent teen girls from high risk behaviors which lead to
juvenile delinquency and teen pregnancy. The curriculum is one of
the only girl-specific research-based curricula in existence.
Additionally, clubGEN's new model allows high school girls to
undergo a workforce development component that is new to GENaustin - empowering
girls through earning potential.

GENaustin has expanded clubGEN to every middle school in the Austin
Independent School District (AISD). The research-based curriculum
used in clubGEN has proven to counter growing rates of pregnancy,
eating disorders, and juvenile delinquency, and increase academic
performance and attitudes about school among adolescent girls.
